“瑞雪兆豐年”，這句老話道出了農民朋友對一場大雪的期盼——雪這層“天然棉被”蓋得越厚，麥苗越樂呵。田地里，農人們踩著咯吱響的雪地，查看冬小麥的長勢；果園中，果農們忙著給樹干涂上防凍的“白棉襖”。
一旦下雪天到來，最開心的要數孩子們，他們可不管冷不冷，哪怕小臉凍得像紅蘋果，也要在雪地里打雪仗、堆雪人，可勁兒撒歡。雪球在空中劃出弧線，笑聲撞破寂靜，連寒風都好似跟著打轉兒。大人們也沒閑著，趁雪天腌臘肉、曬魚干，風一吹，咸香四溢。

Snow is like a natural blanket: the thicker it is, the better the wheat grows. In the fields, farmers walk through the crunchy snow to check their crops. In orchards, growers coat tree trunks with white frost-proof paint to keep them from the cold. When snow comes, kids are the happiest. They don’t care how cold it is — cheeks red as apples, they run outside to throw snowballs, build snowmen, and play as much as they want. Snowballs fly through the air, laughter fills the quiet, and even the cold wind feels like it’s joining in. Adults aren’t idle either: they use snowy days to cure meat and dry fish.
